Agronomy Field Laboratory Renovation
- College Station, Texas
- 5,500 GSF
Renovation of a vacant dairy-breeding barn as a field lab for the testing and analysis of soils and forage materials.
Courtney Harper & Partners worked closely with Texas A&M University researchers to ensure the planning was reflective of the workflow for processing and analyzing materials. The existing “dog-trot” floor plan was capitalized on by separating administrative functions from laboratory processes.
The scope of work for exterior improvements included refurbishment of the building envelope, site utilities and accessibility upgrades. Interior improvements included stabilization of existing structural system, new administrative office area and open laboratory work area. Two new fume hoods, new mechanical electrical and plumbing systems throughout including fire sprinklers, and repairs to selected structural columns and braces were performed.
