Gimbel Building Redevelopment
MD Anderson Cancer Center
- Houston, Texas
- 8 Story Academic/Administrative Tower 76,000 GSF
This phased redevelopment of a circa-1950 research tower encompasses administrative and academic offices, seminar rooms and a medical-simulation training center. A blend of high-technology simulation and hands on practice, the center includes one dedicated ICU simulation room with an adjacent observation/control room, where simulations can be monitored and manipulated by the teaching staff. The redevelopment also includes five seminar rooms where real-life, interactive scenarios featuring realistic “Sim-Man” patients can be staged, as well as a 50-occupant classroom for audiovisual presentations for large group instruction/orientation.
